How long does a natural slate roof last?
A well laid natural slate roof can last 80 to 100 years or more. The nails and flashings usually need attention before the slate itself does.
Is my roof strong enough for natural slate?
Natural slate is heavier than fibre cement, so we check the timbers at the survey. Where weight is a concern, fibre cement slate gives the same look for less load.
Is natural or fibre cement slate cheaper?
Fibre cement slate costs less than natural slate and is lighter, while natural slate lasts longer and suits period homes. We show you both at the survey so you can weigh up the look against the budget.
