How do I tell rising damp from penetrating damp?
Rising damp shows low down near the floor with a tide mark, while penetrating damp appears as patches wherever water is getting through the wall. We identify which it is at the survey.
Do you fix the outside as well?
Yes. Damp almost always has an external cause, so we deal with the pointing, render or guttering letting water in, not just the wall inside.
Why does my damp keep coming back after treatment?
Damp returns when only the inside of the wall is treated and the outside cause is left. We find where the water is getting in, from failed pointing to a leaking gutter, and deal with that first so the wall can dry out and stay dry.
